Meet Jeffrey Curtis
Hailing from Tryon, Virginia, Jeffrey Curtis's journey into the world of horses began at a young age, steeped in family tradition. With a Shetland pony as his first spirited companion (one that certainly kept him on his toes!), Jeffrey's passion for riding ignited early on. From competing in pony divisions to conquering the junior hunter, jumper, and equitation rings, Jeffrey's equestrian journey has been as diverse as it is captivating.

With a bachelor's degree from George Mason University under his belt, Jeffrey's path took an unexpected turn when he embarked on a stint as a flight attendant. However, the call of the stables proved too strong to resist, leading him back to his true passion on a full-time basis.

Jeffrey's equestrian prowess spans a multitude of disciplines, from show jumping and fox hunting to eventing, steeplechasing, and even thoroughbred racing in Virginia. His illustrious varied career has paved the way for a remarkable journey, marked by triumphs at every turn.

As a seasoned competitor and lifelong student of the sport, Jeffrey has honed his skills under the guidance of renowned names such as Rodney Jenkins (Show Jumping Hall of Fame, member of ten winning Nations Cup, earned two silver medals in the 1987 Pan American Games), Sallie Sexton (Chronicle ranked Sexton as one of the top 50 horsemen of the century), Noel Twyman (reknown trainer, steeplechase jockey, fox hunter and preparer of young racehorses) to name a few. With each experience, Jeffrey's expertise grew, solidifying his reputation as one of the most knowledgeable horsemen in the business.

But perhaps what sets Jeffrey apart is his innate ability to connect with both horse and rider, seeing beyond the surface to unlock their true potential. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for clear, concise communication, Jeffrey guides his students towards their goals with unwavering dedication and a dash of humor.

Specializing in true horsemanship and finish riding, Jeffrey excels in helping horses refine their jumping and flatwork skills to perfection. His extensive horsemanship knowledge extends beyond the saddle, encompassing all aspects of handling both in and out of the barn.

At Seagrass Farm, Jeffrey Curtis is more than just a trainer – he's a mentor, a confidant, and a trusted partner on your journey to equine excellence. With Jeffrey by your side, achieving your goals isn't just possible – it's inevitable.
